The Paramount Chief of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area, Awulae Blay IX, has led a delegation of traditional leaders to honour the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, with the developmental chieftaincy title “Nkosu Hene”, in recognition of his contribution to the development of Ellembelle and the wider Nzema area.
The delegation, comprising sub-chiefs and Queen Mothers, paid a courtesy call on the Minister to congratulate him on his appointment and formally express their support for his work.
Awulae Blay IX said the traditional authorities had followed the Minister’s contributions to the development of the area and considered it appropriate to recognise his efforts through the conferment of the traditional title.
The Paramount Chief particularly commended Hon. Buah for his role in promoting the legacy of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah through the annual Nkrumafest.
He said the celebration had become an important platform for keeping alive the values and ideals of Ghana’s first President, noting that the light ignited by Dr. Nkrumah should continue to guide present and future generations.
Awulae Blay IX subsequently presented a traditional stool to the Minister as a symbol of the honour and his new status as “Nkosu Hene”.
On behalf of the chiefs and Queen Mothers, he pledged their continued support to the Minister, the Ministry and its agencies, while praying for his success in office.
Hon. Armah-Kofi Buah expressed gratitude for the honour, describing the conferment of the title as both humbling and deeply appreciated.
He pledged to continue supporting Nkrumafest to ensure that the ideas of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah remain relevant to future generations.
