NAIMOS STRIKES HARD AT KWAEBIBIREM DISTRICT AND ARRESTS SIX (6) CHINESE ILLEGAL MINERS

At about 0120 hrs, a NAIMOS Taskforce operating at the Eastern Region raided an illegal mining site at Asuom in the KWAEBIBIREM District. Some illegal miners were observed mining along a stream called NUKURU within a palm plantation which flows into the BIRIM River.
The Taskforce arrested six (6) Chinese and one (1 ) x Ghanaian illegal miners. The Taskforce also seized an excavators, vehicles and other equipment used by the illegal miners. Several makeshift structures erected were also destroyed by the Taskforce.
