This morning, staff at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources participated in a sensitisation session on the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
Facilitators from the Right to Information Commission (RTIC) provided valuable insights into what the RTI Act entails, how citizens can access information, the procedures involved in requesting information, and the categories of information that are exempt under the law.
Participants were encouraged to ensure that any requests addressed to other units or directorates are promptly referred to the Ministry’s Information Officer for appropriate action.
The session strengthened staff collective commitment to transparency, accountability, and improved service delivery.
