The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah(MP) has participated in a three-day Artificial Intelligence (AI) training programme designed to enhance the capacity of Ministers of State and key stakeholders in integrating AI into public sector operations.
The Ministerial AI Bootcamp, organized by the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations (MoCDTI) in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), convened high-level policymakers and technical experts from across government and private sector to explore AI’s potential in improving service delivery within their respective sectors.
In his opening remarks, the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, emphasized that the program was not intended to transform leaders into software developers but rather to equip them with the knowledge necessary to drive AI Policy as government firms up the National AI Strategy expected to be rolled out soon.
The Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, who officially launched the training, announced that AI solutions developed during the bootcamp would be incorporated into the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the ministries, ensuring accountability and practical application of the skills acquired.
Also representing the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources were the Deputy Minister, Hon. Yusif Sulemana, MP, and the Director of Communications, Madam Ama Mawusi Mawuenyefia.
By the conclusion of the training, all participating ministries are expected to develop practical AI use cases and implementation roadmaps, with technical guidance and support from the UNDP.
