The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Honourable Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has begun a strategic working visit to Hong Kong aimed at attracting investment into Ghana’s mining sector and strengthening partnerships with the international business community.

The visit forms part of the Ministry’s broader agenda to position Ghana as a preferred destination for responsible mining investment and to secure capital that will support the sustainable growth and modernization of the country’s mineral resources industry.

Upon his arrival on Wednesday 22nd July, 2026 the Minister was welcomed by Ghana’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Kojo Bonsu, who expressed confidence that the visit would pave the way for increased investor interest in Ghana’s mining industry and encourage prospective investors to undertake follow-up visits to the country.

As part of his official programme, the Minister will hold discussions with a leading business group before engaging officials and market participants at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, one of the world’s foremost financial markets.

Hon. Buah is expected to present the Government’s vision for a modern, transparent and sustainable mining industry while encouraging global investors to partner Ghana in mineral exploration, mining, value addition and other related ventures.

The visit underscores the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources’ continued efforts to attract strategic investment, deepen international partnerships and mobilize the financial resources needed to unlock the full potential of Ghana’s mineral wealth.

Both the Minister and Ambassador Bonsu expressed optimism that the engagements in Hong Kong would strengthen economic cooperation between Ghana and China and result in increased investment flows into Ghana’s mining sector.
