The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Honourable. Yusif Sulemana, has held a bilateral meeting with the UK Minister for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Mary Creagh, on the margins of the London Climate Action Week (LCAW) on June 23, 2026, in London.
The meeting, held at Kew Gardens, focused on the Ghana–UK Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) processes and the next steps in strengthening cooperation on forest governance and sustainable timber trade.
Both sides discussed progress made under the VPA framework and explored ways to deepen collaboration to ensure legality, transparency, and sustainability in Ghana’s timber supply chain.
The engagement forms part of Ghana’s broader efforts to strengthen international partnerships on forest governance and climate-related trade, as well as to support sustainable management of forest resources.
